Week 10 Term 4

Hi all
Well, it's the final week of the year! It seems to have flown by so quickly.

What's On This Week

GRADUATION MASS
Tuesday evening at 6.00pm, with all children expected to attend in uniform, to farewell the Year 8s who are leaving our school.  Please let us know if you are unable to attend.  It will probably finish around 7.30.

PRIZEGIVING
Wednesday afternoon at 1.00pm in the Church.  Room 1, 2 and 3 are presenting 3 Kapahaka items and Room 1 and 2 are singing a Christmas song. Also, if anyone has a sheep, cow or donkey costume at home, please send these along to school by Tuesday.

Tuesday afternoon - please send swimming togs to school as children will have a run under the sprinklers if it is hot.

Reading books and library books - please have a hunt at home for any reading books or library books that may be at home.  Each reading book costs $9.00-$10.00 and we have quite a few missing.
Room 2 children that have overdue library books have the titles of these books pasted in their reading log.

Also, some children will be taking reading books home for the holidays to ensure that they maintain their reading progress over the summer break.  Please return these books to school at the beginning of Term 1 next year.

Hats will be sent home to be washed over the holidays.

School finishes at lunchtime on Thursday.  Children may be picked up at 12.45, or they may stay for lunch and be picked up at 1.30.  All books and art work will be sent home by Wednesday, as Thursday morning is just a cleaning up morning.

The first day of term for 2016 is Wednesday 3rd February.

Thank you all so much for your support during the past year, and have a happy and safe Christmas and New Year.

Julie and Sue

Week 9

This week we have swimming on Monday and Wednesday. The swimming is going very well and with 3 lessons down some children have really grown in confidence. Thanks to those who have helped with the dressing of children. Swimming is the same time this week. We are at the pool by 10.50am and leave at 12.10pm.
On Tuesday this week children will need to be ready to sing a song to the class as part of the Eisteddfod. On Thursday some Room 1 and 2 children will sing in the Eisteddfod assembly. (Time to be confirmed it will be pm) Any questions about this please come and ask. Children singing and time will be in the newsletter.
We have our last lesson with Harold on Monday and the children have been learning about filling peoples buckets by doing nice things.
If anyone would like to come and help with baking and Christmas activities on Friday morning please let us know.
Have a great week

Week 7 Term 4

Hi everyone

This week we have cricket coaching on Wednesday morning so it's a good idea to wear sports uniforms on Wednesday.

Also on Thursday morning, we have a St John's lesson on First Aid.

Some children are still without hats.  Please ensure your child has a hat now that the weather is getting warmer, or they will have to play in the shade.

Scooters are still being left outside at nights.  It is your child's responsibility to either take their scooter home or bring it inside.  Scooters that are left outside overnight sometimes disappear.

The final Eisteddfod item for this year is a song.  Room 1 children may sing a nursery rhyme whereas Room 2 children are expected to sing a song that is a bit longer.  Please help your child learn a song that is age-appropriate.  (They already know many songs that we sing at Junior Singing, and most of these can be found on YouTube.) They are welcome  to add some actions or props if they wish.  We will be sharing them with the class on Monday and Tuesday 7/8 December.

Have a good week

Julie and Sue
