Welcome to week 1 2018













I hope that everyone had a super holiday and the children are ready to learn in 2018.
Welcome to the new families to St Gerard's.
This term is 11 weeks long and we have Waitangi day, Easter and Otago anniversary in the term.
This term our learning is going to be focused on classroom routines and Keeping Ourselves Safe. This will include road safety, bus safety etc.

Some important dates to remember:

  • Thursday 8th February -Meet the teacher. This starts with a picnic tea at school.
  • 15th, 20th, 21st February Swimming
  • 22nd -School Swimming sports am
  • 6th March- School Triathlon pm

Stationery
If you have books you can use from last year- please take the new ones back to Paper Plus for a refund.

Homework
Will be set up and come home after the Meet the Teacher night so everyone is clear about the expectation.
Reading- Class reading rotations and action stations will be set up before classroom guided reading will take place. Children will bring home books from their reading boxes this week and next but reading instruction will formally start in week 3.
