Week 3 Term2

Thanks to all the parents who are able to help with PMP. We are up and running and it is working well.
For all the hockey players out there, this weekend it is in Cromwell and we have to sort the tournament. If you can help me out with sorting the kids packs and getting the gear sorted let me know.
This week we have a science hands on afternoon, you are welcome to come and join us for this. Because of this on Friday afternoon discovery time will be on Friday morning at 10am. If you would like to help with this that would be great.
I have given homework out today. The rocket ships are the race to space sight words. When the child gets to the top of the rocket they will a new rocket. There are a total of 3 sight word rocket ships. Once your child has the 3 rocket ships they will get spelling homework. Any questions please come and ask.

Week 2 Term 2

I hope that everyone had a super weekend, I had a great time in Blenheim being part of an amazing event. I hope that all Mothers had a great Mothers day. Mini hockey was great and the children all played well. If you think your child would like to play this runs every second Sunday, come and see me.
Very sorry last week was so messy especially for our new members of Room 1.
Monday we open the Mothers day cafe, all children are invited to have on Mother or friend to come alone and have afternoon tea. This starts at 2pm in Room 2. Everyone should have an invitation.
Thats heaps Mrs Donaldson for a great job in Room 1 last week.
The PMP roster is on Room 1's door and looking a little empty, if you are able to help even once this would be great. The PMP meeting will run for 10min from 2.55 until 3.10 on Wednesday in Room 1, if you have helped with PMP before you will not need to attend the meeting. Please come alone even if you just want to find out some information about PMP.
On Friday we have discover time if you would like to come and help with an activity just let me know.

Week 1 Term 2

I hope that everyone had a great holiday.
We welcome to Room 1 and St Gerards School this week Danielle, Maggie and Gabrielle and their families. I will post their photo when school starts.
This term we start our PMP program. For this we ask parents to help set up and take a station. This happens in the hall on a Tuesday and Friday morning, set up 8.45am then the sessions from 9.05 until 9.45ish. If you are able to help starting next week please write your name on the timetable on the Room 1 door. This is a very valuable and important programme for our juniors and we see great benefits and improvements in children's achievements. If you are even able to help for one session this is appreciated. We will run a parent session on expectations and what to do being a parent helper at PMP next Wednesday after school.
This week I am away at a course on Wednesday and Mrs Donaldson will be teaching. On Friday I will am heading to Blenheim to run the St Clair half marathon, Mrs Eastwood will teach in Room 1.
Discovery time is on Fridays from 1.45pm until2.50pm if you are ever free to help with an activity that would be great. This programme is working really well. If you would like more details or more information about this please ask, there is a discovery whiteboard in Room 2 and photos on the wall in Room 1. The board in Room 2 will have the activities on it from Tuesday and children's names go up beside an activity before leaving school on Thursday.
For reading this week we will be testing children and running a new reading rotation that will mean children will complete two activities during reading time and are mixed with children from Room 2 in their activity groups. This rotation and the children's groups are on the wall in Room 2.
Homework this week will be reading every night and a poem on Friday.
