week 9 term 2

I hope that everyone had a great weekend.
This week we have the children presenting their poems to the class on Tuesday afternoon. Then 6 children from Room 1 and 2 will present in a special assembly this Thursday.
Homework this week is reading and learning race to space words, spelling for those who have made it to space.
Tuesday we have swimming and skating, we skate from 10am until 11am we welcome parents to help with putting skates on and off. There will be no early explorers this week. We skate again on Wednesday, children will need waterproof pants, gloves, jackets and bike helmets for skating. On skating days children wear skating clothes to school.
On Thursday night at 7.30pm there is a meeting about how the classes will run for terms 3 and 4.
Mini hockey this week is in Cromwell, please let me know if your child cannot play this week.

Busy bees

week 8

Swimming this week on Tuesday and Friday.
PMP is on Tuesday and Friday.
Early Explorers Tuesday morning.
Maybe we might be in for warmer weather this week.
Homework this week is reading and to learn a poem for next week. The children will have to say their poems in class on Tuesday next week. Any questions about this please come and see me.
We welcome Sophie and her family to Room 1, its great to have your happy face in Room 1.

School Skating

St Gerard's skating starts on Tuesday 2nd July

The cost for skating this year is:

Entry & Skate hire $6  ($3 entry, $3 equipment hire skates and/or stones)
Activity $2
 

Class costs are:

Rooms 1 & 2 – 4 sessions plus bus to and from $36

Those with yellow rink concessions need to have their ticket sighted by the class teacher and the teacher then records the names on the daily payment sheet. Thanks for your co-operation with this requirement.

Week 7

Rain Rain go away!!!! Please

Swimming Tuesday and Friday this week.
On Thursday we are going to visit the Alexandra Kindy. We will leave here at 11am and return at 12.30. Anyone who is free to walk with us that would be great.
Reading for homework this week and children need to pick a poem to read in week 9. Children should be able to learn this off by heart, any problems finding a poem or questions let me know.

Swimming

Room 1 children will now be included in the swimming programme. This takes place on Tuesday and Friday for the rest of the term. We will bus to the pool at 10.45 and swim from 11am until 11.30am then return to school. This is a free programme and the children only need to pay for the bus. The cost of the bus will be $9 which is a $1 for each trip. Please make sure the children have their togs on Fridays and Tuesdays for the rest of the term. As we are now swimming the trip to the Alexandra kindy on Friday will be cancelled.  Girls who have  St Gerards tracksuit pants are welcome to wear these on the swimming days, with their school shirt, jersey and shoes. Girls who don't have the school tracksuit pants can wear track pants with the school shirt, jersey and shoes.

Week 6 Term 2

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mini hockey was great everyone was having a great time.
Mini hockey is again this weekend in Cromwell at 1pm. If you are unable to play let me know.
Homework in Room 1. Some children have spelling homework and some children are on the race to space words. Reading every night from Monday to Thursday and poetry on Friday night.
This week for discovery we are still on crafts but everyone will be making some form of puppet.
On Tuesday I will be at an ICT course.
Thanks for everyones help with PMP there are a couple of Fridays needed some more parent help.
On Friday we will be visiting the Alexandra Kindy, leaving school at 10.45 and returning at 12.30. Anyone who is able to walk with us please let me know. Also anyone who can help with discovery on Friday that would be great.
I really appreciate all the help that parents are giving to enhance our classroom programme. With PMP, discovery and reading group time we could not run these programmes without your on going support.

Week 5

Hope everyone had a great long weekend.
This week the children come dressed in house colours on Thursday, a list of what house your child is in is on the classroom door.
On Friday for discovery we are going to be doing craft activities this will run for 2 weeks. Come and see the board if you can help or have a crafty idea.
