Week 2 News

A short week again this week, School will be closed on Wednesday for Waitangi Day. Another hot week is forecast so children can bring their togs and a towel again this week so they can run under the sprinkler on hot days.

Homework will start this week. Room 1 will have reading and spelling alive homework each night. They will also have poetry homework on a Friday.

All children have now been handed out their books, please feel free to take these and cover them, however please have them at school everyday as children will need to use them.

Just a reminder that children need to have their sunhats at school each day. Also please put a piece of fruit in your child's lunch box each day for them to have at brainfood time. This is especially important now that we have changed out timetable and morning tea break is now 45 minutes later.

Thursday night is our school BBQ / Picnic from 5.30 pm - 7pm.  School BBQ will be available. Please bring your own food and share your evening meal in the company of other families. At 6.15 teachers will share the programme and expectations within their classes. Then Mrs Eastwood will introduce the home-room system and Spelling Alive.

On Sunday it is our Opening School Mass at 9am. There is an expectation that all children will attend in correct summer uniform. Please be there by 8:55am. Children will be sitting with their class. Families are asked to bring a grocery item for the foodbank and a plate for shared cup of tea after Mass.

Thank you.
