We hope you have all had a great holiday enjoying the beautiful weather and are coming back to school refreshed and ready for an exciting year.
Next week Gary Milford will be taking Bus Safety and Road Safety in the afternoons from 2 February - 5 February. There will be a Road Safety test on Monday 9 February and we will need some parents to help with this.
Also we have swimming during the afternoons of the 10th, 11th and 12th of February. We will be travelling to the pool and back by bus. This is in preparation for the school swimming sports which will be held on the morning of the 23rd of February.
Please keep Thursday evening 12th February free as there will be a picnic tea and a meet-the-teacher evening.
Our first school Mass for the year is on Sunday 15th February.
Thank you all so much for your support of our burger lunch fundraiser at the end of last term. It was so successful that we raised over $580. From this money we have purchased several Tonka toys and metal spades for the sandpit. We are still organising a sandpit cover and storage for the toys.
Regarding school stationery, there is an extra charge of $10.00 to be paid to the office. This is to cover the reading logs, printing books, felts and coloured pencils that have been purchased elsewhere.
You are welcome to cover your child's books if you choose but this is not compulsory. Please do not name any glue sticks, rubbers, pens, pencils etc as these will be shared by the class.
For children in Room 2, if you want to name and label your books, the list is as follows:
4 LWB Reading
Printing
Sounds Alive
one spare (only child's name)
My writing
book 1 clever kiwi (x1) Story writing
RE
Homework
1 Clever Kiwi Maths Book Maths
Finally, as some more very hot weather is forecast, please send togs and towel along to school each day as if the classrooms are unbearable, we will go under the sprinklers in the afternoon.
Thanks
Julie and Sue
