Any old spare scrap metal?

In the church carpark there is a skip for scrap metal.  This is the last weekend.  Please place any scrap metal you want to be rid of into it. All money from this will be used to support school resourcing.

Week 6 Term 3

We hope that everyone had a super weekend.

This week we have PMP on Wednesday afternoon and we need two more parent help please. This will only be on if the weather is good as it is open afternoon and the hall is being used. We are hoping to have PMP outside.
This is a great programme that is really beneficial to the children's learning.

Mrs Lyon is completing her last week in Room 2 this week. We are very lucky to have her help in the junior school and thank her for her efforts.

Open afternoon this Wednesday for any child starting at St Gerard's in 2016.

We have assembly on Friday at 2.10pm in the hall.

Room 1 welcomes Boston and Claire to the Room 1 family.

Next Monday we are off to waste busters in the afternoon as part of our inquiry topic. Anyone who is able to meet as there and help that would be great. Please let us know asap.

This Sunday is a school mass and the children come in uniform and sit with their class. This is 9am at the Church.

Have a happy week

Week 5 Term 3

Hi everyone

Just a routine week this week - it's lovely to get one every once in a while!

Thanks to all those parents and grandparents who were able to come and support their children in the Crosscountry last week.  The children were all very proud of themselves.

We are very lucky to have Carolyn Lyon co-teaching in Room 2.  She is currently in the middle of a 4- week teaching  practicuum and next week she will have full control in the classroom.

Also a quick note to ask you if you could please send along a white plastic bag with your child this Friday for Discovery Time.  We are going to be making poi - integrating Maori with our inquiry topic of Reducing, Reusing and Recycling.

Next week we have our open afternoon for new parents on Wednesday and the whole school is attending a Science Show in the hall on Thursday morning.  Also Room 2 is leading prayer in the Church on Monday morning if any of you are able to come.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

Week 4 Term 3 2015

Sorry we are a bit slow this week with the blog.
No PMP this week as it is the Cross Country. Children will be having play lunch at 10-15am and lunch at 12pm. At 12.30pm children will be walking to the cross country track. Children need to have a big drink and lots of food. They wear their sports uniform, shorts under track pants and a warm jacket. Please also bring a plastic bag to sit on as the ground could be wet. We are at the cross-country track until 2.50pm.
This week on Friday, Room 1 and 2 are leading Mass. This is at 12pm in the church. Please feel free to come and join us.

Have a great week

Week 3 Term 3

Hi everyone

Thank you all for the support of our Book Fair last week.  Congratulations to Harriet who was the only one to guess that there were 102 chocolate fish and snakes in the jar! Harriet won a $25 book voucher and some lollies.  Also well done to Morgan who was a runner-up in the competition.

Remember to keep saving those yoghurt pottles for Discovery Time on Friday.  Thanks to those who have brought some along to school already.

This is our third week of cross country training and most children are running a little further each day.  So another week of trackies and running shoes.

Please write your name on the list on Room 1's door if you are able to help with PMP on a Wednesday afternoon from 2.00 - 3.00.  We need 3 helpers each day and we are still quite short of helpers.

Also please remember to send homework books to school each day as we will be practising our Mihis this week.

Have a good week,

Julie and Sue
