Swimming and boxes

Swimming tomorrow for all 6 year olds. Bus goes to the pool at 11.15.  Children will already have changed into their togs at school.  If any parents are able to be at the pool by 12.00 to help children get dressed, this would be much appreciated.

Also we already have a number of large boxes so probably just shoe boxes to school for Friday.

Thanks

Week 2 Term 2

We hope that everyone had a super weekend and that the children all came home and told you about the special ANZAC activities and the service we had on Friday.

Well done to all the children who played sport over the weekend. The hockey players were amazing in pretty dreadful weather conditions. If your child would like to play mini hockey (Funsticks 5 and 6 year olds), it is not too late. It is every 2nd Sunday. Come and talk to Julie if you think your child might like to give it a go.

This week on Friday Room 1 and 2 will start their Funsticks in Schools programme. They will have lessons over the next few weeks and a school wide hockey tournament. On Friday the children can wear their track pants.

On Friday in Discovery Time, we are going to be making things related to Anzac Day. We really need boxes big enough for children to sit in plus shoe boxes. Please bring as many as possible to school by Friday.

This week Room 1 and 2 children will also be having some science activities with Mr Hogue.

As we will be starting our PMP programme in week 3 we need some adult help to make this happen. This is a very important programme that we are fully equipped to run. It happens in the hall and we need adults to set up, take a station, and pack away. The programme will take place from 2-15pm till 3pm every Wednesday. Adults will be needed from 2pm until 3pm. If you can help please pop your name on the timetable on Room 1 door ASAP. We need 3 parents for each session. If you have any questions about this please come and talk to us.

Reading will be going home all week and a poem on Friday.

Have a happy week
Julie and Sue

The big dig

The Big Dig

The St Gerards Enviro group has been planning towards developing an organic vegetable garden. We’ve visited other gardens, shared our ideas and been given advice from other gardeners. The time has now arrived to turn the first soil! We will be digging the garden beds this coming week and we would love to see anyone who is keen and able to help us out.

Where: Meet at the garden, behind the PE shed.

When: 1245pm Wednesday 29th April

What to bring: Spades, shovels, gloves…any spares would be appreciated also.

We’d love to see you there and will be thankful for any help we can get!

Thanks

The Enviro group
