Week 8

Welcome to Week Eight.

I had a wonderful week in Stewart Island at school camp. This is one amazing camp that children really get wonderful learning and life experiences.

This week the children have lots of different learning experiences.

•  Monday afternoon the whole school is walking to a performance in the town hall. 
• Tuesday I will be at a course on play based learning
• Wednesday the children have Mrs Laidlaw for Art while I am on release testing children.
• On Wednesday the PTA have their AGM here at school. It would be great to see lots of new faces.
• Friday is school assembly- all welcome 2.15pm in the hall.

Have a great week and don't forget next Monday is a holiday. 26th March

Easter Friday 30th March is a holiday and so is the following Monday and Tuesday.

Week 7

Hi Everyone

Wow what an awesome effort on Wednesday at the triathlon. It was so exciting to see all the children so proud of themselves at the end!! Well done

This week I will be away all week on the Stewart Island school camp.
Mrs Eastwood will be teaching on Monday and Mrs Roberts for the rest of the week. If you have any problems or concerns please see Trina. This will be a normal weeks programme for the children as I have left all work and the routines will stay the same. Bernadette will still be in Room 3 all week.

Please consider becoming a Room 2 rep on the PTA. We have Kiri has kindly offered to be one of the reps but we do need another. It is not a massive task. One of the reps comes to the PTA meeting. As classroom parents any concerns or ideas you have for the PTA can be feed through the reps.

The PTA drive many things that help the children at St Gerard's. They are desperately short on people and they would love to see some new faces.

Hi

On Tuesday we have school Mass at 9am. We are leading this with Room 6. Everyone is welcome to join us.


Exciting times this week with the Triathlon!!
Please drop bikes up to the pool and children are to be collected from the pool.
Children are to wear sports uniform to school on Tuesday.
Below is the out line of the Year 1 and 2 race.


Assembly is on Friday at 2.15pm in the Hall. Everyone welcome.


This week we are looking at the letter O!!
Feel free to bring things that start with O!!

Maths we are learning about Statistics!! 

RE we are learning about Jesus and his life and how different this is from our lives.

Reading- our focus is on reading sounding like talking 

Writing we are using our tools (Hands) to sound out words!!

We also have talking buddies and we are working hard on listening and repeating our buddies news!!

Bike – Once around block through park, along Centennial Ave, along pool entrance footpath. Transition – Past squash courts Swim – 2 lengths  (small pool)
