Week 5, Term 1

Hi everyone,

Well we had a very successful camp with lots of fun and wonderful weather! The children were amazing and they all seemed to enjoy the experience, although some were very tired by Friday afternoon.  A special thanks to our parent helpers - camp wouldn't be possible without you.

What's on this week?

Swimming sports this Tuesday 28 February. All students are to be at the pool by 9 am in their house colours. Brightly coloured clothing is great, but please no crepe paper – this marks the pool
surroundings when it gets wet. As it is very hot inside the pool, plenty of water should be
packed along with a good sized morning tea.

The junior races begin at approximately 10.15am, so if you are wanting to watch the races aim for 10.00am to be on the safe side.  It is probably easiest if the children wear their togs under their clothes, and remember to pack goggles.

All children will travel back to school after 12 by bus.

Ash Wednesday – 1st March: 9 am Mass in the Church led by Room 3. You are welcome to join us.

NZ Playhouse Performance - Thursday 2nd March, 1.30 pm.  The whole school will attend this performance.

Please see the newsletter about the fundraiser of daffodil bulbs for sale.  These bulbs are at a very reasonable price so be in quick to place your order.

Have a lovely week,

Sue, Julie, Bridget and Kate

Camp parents

Last minute notice - we think the pool at the holiday park may be quite deep for some of our littlies. If anyone has kid's lifejackets at home could you please put them in your car in case we need them.  Also, if any parents who are staying would like to bring their togs, it would be helpful to have a couple of adults in the pool.

Week 4, Term 1 2017

Hi everyone,

Thank you to all those who came to our Opening School Mass this morning, and for those who brought food for morning tea and an item for the Food Bank.  At Mass we welcomed a team of 8 young people from the Evangelisation Team based in Wellington and enjoyed a mime/dance from them. We look forward to a morning with the team at school this Wednesday.

This is the last week of swimming (Tuesday and Thursday), followed by the school swimming sports next Tuesday morning 28 February.  Thank you so much to the parents who have helped, especially Rebecca and Kirsty who have got into the pool with the children to help supervise.  Please remember to pay the swimming cost of $6.00 to the office if you haven't already done so.

Also camp this Thursday and Friday, and it looks a great forecast! Remember the camp fee of $35 is to be paid to the office as well as $15.00 for any parent helpers attending. Please keep saving plastic containers and materials suitable for boat building and send them along with your child to camp on Thursday evening. Here is the gear list as well as a copy of the last notice just in case.  Please ensure this is returned to school so we are able to order tea for children and helpers.

Have a great week,

Sue, Julie, Bridget and Kate
