Enviro

Enviro group garden request.

Wheelbarrows: This Wed July 1st we are shifting a whole bunch of soil. If you have a wheelbarrow we could borrow for the day could you please let Mr Yeoman know. Any parent help during Wed lunchtime would be very welcome.

Pots: We need a range of pots for planting seedlings in. A range of sizes and materials would be fine. If you have any spare could they pleased be dropped into Room 6 anytime. We will begin planting seedings in Term 3.

Building materials: We want to build a mini hot-house to raise our seedlings and are looking for materials to do this. The hot house will be aprox 1000mm x 600mm x 600mm. We are particularly looking for timber to frame the hot house and plastic to cover it.

Thanks

Week 11, Term 2

Hi everyone

This week we have iceskating on Monday and Wednesday at the same time as last week, leaving school at 10.40 and skating from 11.00 - 12.00.  Thanks to all the parents who helped with getting skates on and off last week - it makes such a difference to have your help!

On Monday afternoon, the children will be reciting their Eisteddfod poem to the class.  Some children will be chosen to say their poem at the Eisteddfod assembly on Thursday afternoon at 1.30pm.

We made a wonderful variety of bird feeders on Friday morning at discovery time.  Thanks for collecting and sending along suitable materials.  We hope to hang them outside our windows tomorrow if it's not too windy, so that we can birdwatch for the rest of the week.  Children will bring them home on Friday.  (Friday is the last day of term.)

Have a happy and safe holiday,

Julie and Sue

Week 10 Term 2

This week we have skating on Tuesday and Thursday. Children are to wear their skating clothes to school. Children must also have a helmet, gloves and jackets. Children can take off skating pants and wear tracksuit pants for the rest of the day at school. Children do not wear their uniform on skating days. We travel to skating on a bus. We would love help to put on and take off skates. We will be there at 10.50am and return at 12pm.

Swimming has now finished for the term.

On Friday we have a School Mass 12pm  and Assembly at 2.10pm. Please feel free to join us. Also on Friday there is a cuppa in the staffroom - feel free to come along with your children.
On Friday as part of discovery time we are making bird feeders. Below are some of the ideas we have shared with the children. If you could bring in some things used in these bird feeders below that would be super. So please collect yoghurt containers, cans, bottles or any other things you see below.
Have a great weekend!!!

Week 8 Term 2 2015

Hi everyone

This week Sue is away at a Catholic School's Convention in Wellington from Wednesday - Friday and Robyn Cooney will be relieving in Room 2.

Also, Julie has release days on Wednesday and Thursday and Mrs Lyon will be relieving in Room 1.

Just a reminder from Room 2 that our news day is Monday, so please encourage your child to only bring things for news on a Monday. (Unless of course, it is a birthday or something really special has happened).  Also, our library day is Friday - some children have got some very overdue library books.

The children are really enjoying Friday discovery time.  Please keep sending along small boxes, plastic containers, egg cartons, paper towel rolls etc for construction.

Swimming continues for the 6 year olds in Room 2 this Thursday.  Please remember track pants for swimming and PMP on the Thursday.

Have a good week,

Sue and Julie
