Speeches Tomorrow

There appears to be a misunderstanding in regards to parents watching the speeches tomorrow.
These speeches are for the children to present to their peers and teachers. It is very hard for some children to get up and present these to their peers.
All parents are very welcome to come and watch a selection of these speeches next Thursday.
Many thanks for your understanding

They may might to change their topic over the weekend.

I stayed within a suitable time limit and presented my speech to a high standard.
My speech didn’t have enough detail in it or I went too fast!

I was respectful towards my other classmates when giving their speech.   I listened.  I did not talk. I remained seated.
I was respectful for some of my other classmates during their speeches. I listened to a few.  I talked to my neighbour. I got up out of my seat once.

week 7

Only 3 weeks to go for the term! The weeks are flying by.

Tomorrow (Monday) we have a very special guest coming to St Gerard's - Brett Fairweather the creator of jump jam is coming to school at 2pm to lead the school in one of his aerobic routines.

On Friday children received a notice to take home regarding their involvement in a calendar for the museum for next year.  For this we will be recreating a photo of the Alexandra Cycling Club taken in the 1800's. There will be a photographer coming to take this photo on Thursday morning. Children will be wearing their school uniform but need to wear on old fashioned hat. They will also need a bike. If your child doesn't have a bike at home they are able to share so don't panic about tracking one down. If we could get as many as possible that would be great.

Also coming up in the last week of term we have eisteddfod speeches. For homework over the next 2 weeks children need to learn a small speech about a topic of their choice to present in front of the class.

Discovery time tomorrow Friday 6th September

Discovery Time will be tomorrow afternoon so your child will be coming home to talk about what they will be doing.  We shared our ideas about occupations two weeks ago but unfortunately to injuries and sickness this has not happened yet! However there is lots of learning planned for tomorrow afternoon.

Your child might be a baker, builder, gym instructor, Beauty Therapist or Artist.  They have spoken about what kinds of things we will do in each of these occupations so if you are able to help please pop along in the morning to let us know!

Thanks for your ongoing support to make this a successful afternoon of learning.

Anyone who is able to help with PMP on Monday afternoons please pop your name on the roster on the Room 1 door.
