Week 6, Term 2

Hi everyone,

We hope you all had a fun and relaxing Queen's Birthday weekend.

Room 2 welcomes Eva and Logan into their classroom today.

Room 2 have now finished swimming.  The children learnt lots about water safety and had fun swimming in their pyjamas on the last day.

What's Coming Up?
Skating starts next week Tuesday 13th.  Room 1, 2 and 7's lesson is from 11.00-12.00pm.  The bus leaves school at 10.40am and returns to school at 12.10.  The cost of ice-skating for each child is $45,  which includes 5 sessions and the bus. This can be paid to the office please.  Full skating information will be in this week's newsletter. A reminder that children need to wear warm clothing, with gloves being a safety requirement for being on the ice, along with helmets which are a compulsory item. (Bike helmets are ideal for skating). Children need to wear some sort of waterproof pants.  It would be great if any parents that are free would meet us at the rink to help with putting skates on and off.

The School Disco is on Friday 9th June, from 5.30 - 7.00pm for Yrs 1 - 4, and 7.30 - 9.00pm for Yrs
5-8.  Entry is a gold coin and there will be treats available to purchase.

Friday June 9th is also the last day to have your honeywrap/gladwrap orders and money in.  These orders will be sent away on Monday 12 June.

The Poetry Eisteddfod will be held in the last week of term.  Children need to prepare a short poem to recite to the class. (Room 1 may choose a nursery rhyme). The children all have poems in their poetry book that they could choose a poem from, or select a poem of their choice.  They can enhance this with actions if they wish.  We will be choosing two or three children to recite their poem at the Eisteddfod assembly.  Criteria will be: knowing your poem off by heart, using a clear voice, looking at the audience and using expression.

Have a great week,

 Sue, Bridget and Kate
