Week 4 Term 2

Hi there
Hope everyone had a lovely relaxing Mothers Day and a big thank you to all of you who attended our Mother's Day school Mass.  We hope you all enjoyed the Mother's Day surprises that the children made for you at Discovery Time on Friday.

Remember tomorrow is our Mother's Day Cafe at 10.30am. The children are looking forward to baking and serving you in the cafe.  If your child has an apron at home they are welcome to bring it to school tomorrow.

This Wednesday 13th is our school hockey tournament at Pioneer Park.  We will walk down at 12.45 and the children will take their lunch with them. (No lunch orders or pie warmers on Wednesday).  It would be great to have some parents to walk there and back with us. (There will be no PMP this Wednesday afternoon).  Children to wear house colours to school.  Please make sure your child has a drink bottle, suitable shoes for playing hockey, and a warm jacket.

Swimming again this Thursday for the 6 year olds.  Children swimming can wear trackpants on Thursday as tights and kilts are very tricky to get on again afterwards.

Michael Mangan is performing at our school this Friday 15th.  The children sing many of his songs so we are very lucky to have him visiting us.

Also the school has recently purchased Sunshine Online (reading activities) for junior classes.  Children are able to access this programme at home.  They read along to a book at their reading level and then complete activities based on the book.  Unfortunately at this point the programme does not work on iPads or tablets, but the company say they are developing this and it should be up and going by next term.  The username is stgerards2014 and mercy2014 is the password.

Have a good week

Sue and Julie
