Week 2 Term 4

Hi everyone

This term Sue is working four days a week and Kate Donaldson will be working on Fridays.  Early Explorers has changed to Thursday morning.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) is our school Athletics Day at Molyneux Park.
Events will run from 9.30am to 2:45pm.
Children are to wear
• school sports uniform with track suits or track pants and school jersey
• Sunhats, sun block, a warm jacket
They need to bring plenty to eat and drink
All children are to be at the park by 9:15 and meet their class teacher.
Bus children - please let your teacher know if they are travelling to and from school so we can get them to the park and back. Children can be collected from Molyneux Park at 2.45pm or they will be walked back to school.
Room 1 children have swimming at 2.00pm, so they need to bring their togs to Molyneux Park.  We will walk to the pool.  If possible, please collect your child from the pool by 2.45.  If you are unable to do this, please email Sue at suewright@stgerards.school.nz
As all staff will be running events, we need to have a couple of parents to lead the 5 & 6 year olds round the rotations on the day, this role can be shared – please let Mrs Beilby know if you are able to assist with this.
The Athletic Sports timetable will be on the window in the foyer to enable parents to plan ahead, if attendance can only be for a short time. Let’s hope for great weather and a day of supported competition.

Remember, the fair is this Sunday 29th October.
White elephant
Please keep those bits and pieces coming in.
Sweets
Sweet making will take place next Thursday at the Dunstan kitchen starting at 6.30. If you are able to help please contact Julie Flannery 0275314097. If you have trays that can be used for the sweet making please drop these to the office before Thursday or take them with you. Please make sure they are named so they can be returned.
FunZone
We are after 1 or 2 people who could sell funzone tickets. The fun zone are activities like: water slide, hair and nails, archery etc. The tickets are used instead of money at these stalls. If you could help out please let Donna ( 027337 8856) or Trina know asap
Chocolate Wheel
Thank you to Julie Flannery for offering to lead the chocolate wheel and those who can help her. We are still after a few others to ensure we sell all the tickets for our donated goods.
Keep those bottles & raffle items coming in to the boxes in the foyer.  Room 1 and 2's box is for something sweet.

Silent Art Auction
Also, your child's art is displayed on the walls of the Room 1 and 2 corridor.  The children have done an amazing job of this and is you would like to purchase a piece of art, you can bid on the art works in the foyer.  The proceeds of this are going towards the fair.

Sunhats
All children must have sunhats at school this term.  They can be purchased at the school office for $18.99.  All children should be in summer uniform by now.  It is also important for children to be wearing their sunhats at Action Stations, as many of them are outside during this time.  Please sunblock your child before school of the forecast is for a hot day.

Wednesday Mass at 9.00am is led this week by Room 4, and Rooms 1, 2 and 7 are leading Friday assembly.  Please join us if you can.

Have a great week,

Sue, Julie and Kate
