Week 6, Term 4

Hi everyone,
Sorry the blog is so late this week! The next three weeks are jam-packed with activities.

There has already been a blog posted about Pet Day this Friday.  Please check this for details and remember to send your child along with :
  • flowers and a saucer (just some shallow plate or plastic plate is fine), if they want to make a sand saucer in Room 2.
  • vegetables and a named vegie knife and named chopping board if you have one, if they want to make a vegetable creation in Room 7. (Please make sure the knife is well wrapped.)
  • materials to make a hat or you can make one at home, if they would like to make a hat in Room 3.
  • a cake if you have a little baker that would like to enter a cake into the cake competition in Room 6.
These activities are optional - probably the sand saucer and vegetable animal are easiest for Room 1 and 2 children.  If your child doesn't have a pet to bring, they can enter a pet into the soft toy  animal competition in Room 1. (This is open to anyone).
The Grand Parade is at 11.30 and all pets must be collected by 12.30.

There is still a little bit of art left to be collected from the Art Auction and Chrissy is collecting the money at the office.

Next week we participating in a Christmas art rotation with Rooms 7 and 3.

The following week is a very busy one as it is Outdoor Education Week plus the Life Education bus will be at the school.  We will let you know details of Outdoor Education week next week, but at this stage we are hoping to include a walk to the clock, a bike to the bike park and possibly a farm visit. Hopefully there are some of you that will be free to help  on these trips.

A reminder that it is only two weeks till our last Eisteddfod for the year and for this term it is a song.  The children will be singing a song to the class in Week 8, so now is a good time to start practising.  Room 1 may sing a nursery rhyme if they choose.  The criteria used for selecting those to perform at the Eisteddfod Assembly will be;

  • knowing the song by heart
  • tunefulness
  • volume
  • suitability of song choice
(If you have any questions about the assembly, please chat to one of us about it).

Have a great remainder of the week,

Sue, Julie and Kate
